The Residence Halls, LLC, is a team of people with industry knowledge and experience, dedicated to meeting the needs of residents who are looking for upscale living options on or near college campuses. We all have different backgrounds, including finance, investments, real estate, construction, accounting, education and university administration.

Matt Nine

CEO and Founder

Matt Nine
  • 25 Years of commercial real estate experience, including investment, finance, underwriting, development,  brokerage, construction and property management.
  • History of consistent investment returns of 20+% IRR.
  • Wide range of experience in managing construction budgets, schedules and payouts.
  • BBA from Baylor University in Real Estate and Finance.
  • Formed Campus Real Estate Solutions, LLC in 2004 to provide real estate services and source investment opportunities relating to the U.S. Education Industry.
  • Formed The Residence Halls, LLC in 2019 as a natural progression of college-related investments.

Steven Stenmark

Co-Founder and Chairman

Steven Stenmark
  • 35 years of experience concentrated in the real estate, education, and financial service sectors.
  • Co-Founded and formed Campus Real Estate Solutions, LLC in 2004. The company specializes exclusively in providing real estate services and source investment opportunities relating to the U.S. Education Industry.
  • Co-Founded and formed The Residence Halls, LLC in 2019 as a natural progression of college-related investments.

Prior Experience and Qualifications:

  • CFO/Controller for a publicly traded education company. Extensive experience in SEC reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
  • CFO of real estate company specializing in asset management, loan administration, special servicing, real estate acquisition, and liquidation services.
  • Public accounting Audit Manager with 7 years of experience at Coopers & Lybrand (aka PWC).
  • Past President of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Miami Chapter.

Dr. Kathy Frisbie

Education

Dr. Kathy Frisbie
  • 25 year veteran of higher education administration.
  • Has worked in university leadership positions in Canada and the United States.
  • Expert in college and K-12 curriculum models.
  • Volunteer experience with numerous higher education accrediting bodies.
  • In 2015, received a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
  • Won the ‘Dissertation of Distinction Award’ for her Doctorate Dissertation, which was also published in the Journal of Work in 2016.

Hugh Katz

Design & Construction

Hugh Katz
  • 40+ year career in project design and construction management.
  • Founding partner and COO of LVK Associates, an architecture firm.
  • Award winning designer and project manager of senior living communities in the Missouri, Illinois and Kansas.
  • Managed millions of square feet of projects including residential, hospitality, education, healthcare, military, government and large corporate facilities.
  • Over a billion dollars of total managed projects.
  • Recently completed new addition to the El Paso International Airport.
  • Provided FEMA with project management for Reconstruction of Housing in St. Thomas USVI.

Jon Vasconcellos

CFO

Jon Vasconcellos
  • Chief Financial Officer of Campus Real Estate Solutions, LLC.
  • Chief Financial Officer of Shine Development Partners.
  • Managing Member of VTX Ventures, LLC, founded in 2011.
  • 20+ years experience in senior finance and management.
  • 6 years in public accounting at KPMG.
  • Past Controller and CFO of numerous education companies.
